Morning Briefings

Daily Prayer for October 17th, 2007

I pray that my work is in answer to someone’s prayers today, and that we both realize it

On a particularly difficult day a nurse prayed: ‘O God, where are you? Why don’t you send help?’ ‘I did,’ God replied, ‘I sent you. And as long as it takes, I will be with you whenever and wherever you honor human life.’

Patrick Horneman says:

As a father of 4 teenagers I trust God sent me into the mess/noise/struggles/joys of teenage life.

Thanks for your words of encouragement

lad says:

This reminds me of a story I read in the paper after the Tsunami in Indonesia and a vacationer there was quoted as saying, “Where are the Americans? They are taking forever to get here to save us.” And I thought, but you’re the American who is already there. Time to step up. I hope he finally came to that conclusion, too. God puts us places.

Helene Markel says:

This message really spoke to me this morning. I strive to make the world a better place through my business. It is sometimes hard to recognize God’s hand in my work when he is so evidently present. Thank you for the reminder.

dad says:

This makes me realize how important I am in the realization of other people’s careers. It also makes me think about the people that are important to the realization of my career.
