Let us pray for all of us who will lead in 2023.
Leadership means finding a new direction, not simply putting yourself at the front of the herd that's heading toward the cliff.Let us continue to go forth and do our work "as to the Lord."
The work of Beethoven and the work of a charwoman become spiritual on precisely the same condition, that of being offered to God. This does not, of course, mean that it is for anyone a mere toss-up whether he should sweep floors or compose symphonies. We are members of one body, but different members with his own vocation.Pray that through our actions, others who need it find hope.
Hope is often the most important gift we can impart to each other. When you've suffered a great deal and yet manage to emerge with your strength and hope intact, you can be of tremendous assistance to others. For a new generation of leaders, let's pray.
It's easy to read a code of conduct, not so easy to put it into practice, especially if you risk losing the loyalty of the people serving under you, or the trust of your peer officers, or the approval of your superiors. For wisdom, we pray
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying,' Where is he that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.'For the experienced among us, let us pray.
There are useful and necessary things to be done that are best done by old people, partly because old people have greater perspective of experience, but mostly because the things that need to be done do not fit into a career, or they are too risky for young or mid-career people. That we provide warmth from the bitter cold for each other, let us pray.
Cold Reality: A blast of Arctic air set lows in the Midwest, the South and up into New England. For all of us, a generation who has spent the last dozen years devoted to our assorted devices, we pray.
When you're out to dinner, does your Blackberry occupy a seat at the table? Does your spouse ever check email before saying 'good morning' to the kids?Lord, for those I will lead this week; there are things they can change, and things we will need to work around.
You can't teach height. For the visionaries, we pray.
At the heart of a truly great business there is a lack of busyness and the presence of a humble, determined visionary. For those who model altruism in the workplace, and throughout their lives, we pray.
Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness.Let us pray for those in the community in which we work.
Community is important because it's through our relationship with others that we define who we are. Alone, we face no challenge, no need to communicate, relate or connect. It's the connecting with others, especially those who have different ideas and opinions, that is challenging and life-changing.Let us pray for all of us having one of 'those days' in which we doubt our purpose.
Every godly leader understands she is just a servant using her natural gifts while waiting to be ushered into God's purpose and presence. As we take on goals and aspirations for a new year, may prayer play a big part in our plan for success.
Do not feel overwhelmed by the length of this journey. All you ever need do is focus on one thing: what you are doing. Stay on the path and put one foot in front of the other--that is all. There is joy in the struggle.I pray for a new appreciation of all that is incomplete that surrounds me today.
A newborn is beautiful for its amazing completeness as a human being. A toddler, as it develops, is a wonder to watch. Neither of these are 'finished,' but for their stage, they're complete. It's the same all through life. Each stage is beautiful in its time.Pray for the love of our work.
When the spirit is present, there is no job that doesn't become noble and holy. There is a way of drawing cartoons, or of working with wood, or emptying bins which shows that love has been placed there, as well as attention to detail and a little spark of something personal--and there is no human understanding or task in which such a personal ingredient cannot flourish. The other way, that of loathing one's work and despising it instead of redeeming it and transforming it, is wrong.Pray for those working today while a confrontation with their child weighs heavily on their heart.
Parents are the bones on which children sharpen their teeth.Let us pray for the wisdom to ask for even greater wisdom.
If anyone lacks in wisdom, let him ask God, who is always ready to give a bountiful supply to all.Let us pray on the wisdom of Ecclesiastes 7:11-12
Here's the Scripture: 'Wisdom, like an inheritance, is a good thing and benefits those who see the sun. Wisdom is a shelter as money is a shelter- wisdom preserves the life of the possessor.' The benefit of wisdom is what it does. Like an inheritance, it's a head start in life. Like money, it's a protection against what might befall. A life preserver, it provides basic common sense against that which can shorten life.Lord, let me acknowledge the successes all around me, and give thanks.

Loving and Gracious God, you are indeed the giver of all good gifts and we come together this day to seek your wisdom, guidance, courage and strength. Be with us in our deliberations and help us to be wise in the decisions we make for the good of all those who have placed their trust and confidence in our leadership. Give us insight to lead with integrity that our decisions may reflect what is right and good. Keep us from shortsightedness and pettiness. Help us to make decisions that strive to be for the good of all and guard us from blind self interest. Finally, dear Lord, grant us the humility to always seek your will in all that we do and say. All Glory be to you, loving God, now and forever. Amen.

Today O God we ask for your spirit to be at work in our midst, that you might stir up in us the gifts that we need to lead this company/organization with integrity and focus to the tasks at hand. Give us the courage to not only consider ourselves; but all those who are affected by the decisions we make. Help us to remember those who labor on our behalf, our employees and vendors and all those whose livelihood is connected to this company/organization. We give you thanks for our investors/stockholders who have placed their trust in us and we ask for courage and wisdom to be good stewards of both their trust and their resources. Help us in the midst of difficult decisions to have peace of mind, trust in your guidance, and look toward the long term goals of all whom we serve. Finally we give you thanks for this company/organization and ask that you might so guide us and our decisions that we might continue to serve you and the world through the work you have given us to do. In Jesus name. Amen

Almighty and gracious God. We your children gather here to share, for the good of this organization, and the common good, the gifts and graces you have given us. As we plan the work of this organization, help us be mindful of your charge to us to be wise stewards of this world and its resources. We are responsible not just for money or success, but for the well being of all whom we employ, and all who use our products. Guide us so we think wisely, plan carefully, and act diligently for the life of our organization. Lead us always to make choices based on your teachings; let us remember that you wish us to practice justice and walk humbly with you. With your guidance we will Lord, work to serve you as we serve each other through the various agencies of this business. We acknowledge that all we have is a gift from your almighty hand. Direct us to make only those decisions and plans that honor the law you have given us, serve those people we represent, and establish an organization that has a moral and social conscience.

Start a "time of prayer" in silence. The time of silence should allow people to open their hearts to God and to feel what it is that they need or are thankful for (or both) that day and for any other needs that may be directly associated with the upcoming meeting. The silence should be about one minute in length. Allow another minute for people to express "briefly" prayers of petition or thanksgiving e.g. "Lord, please bless my daughter and son in law expecting their first baby." The conclusion of this time can be closed simply with words similar to the following: "Lord, we pray that you hear these and all the prayers of our hearts this day and all the prayers of all people who call on your love, aid and mercy."
